Bob Thomas, Lt Col, CAP, is the Director of Professional Development and Information Officer, Texas Wing.

Bob joined in 1968, earning his Earhart award and the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel. After arriving at Offutt AFB, he transferred to the Offutt Cadet Squadron as a Senior Member where he attained the rank of Second Lieutenant.

His awards include: Master Observer, Master Communicator, Exceptional Service Award, Meritorious Service Award, Commander's Commendation Award w/7 Bronze Clasp, Unit Citation w/4 Bronze Clasp, Gill Rob Wilson Award w/ Bronze Star, Paul E. Garber Award w/ Bronze Star, Leadership Award Ribbon w/12 Silver Stars, Membership Ribbon/w Bronze Clasp, A. Scott Crossfield Ribbon, Command Service, Rescue "Find" Ribbon w/Bronze Propeller and 3 Bronze Clasp, Air Search and Rescue Ribbon w/ 14 Bronze Clasp, Civil Defense/Disaster Relief Ribbon w/ “V” Clasp and 2 Bronze Clasp.

A CAP Mission Observer and RADEF Officer. Qualified in 15 other mission related specialties. Experience covers training, practice, evaluation and actual missions of Disaster Relief, ELT, RADEF, photographic, and SAR types
